Expressive Therapies Summit - Continuing Education Providers

  • Expressive Therapies Summit has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7486. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Expressive Therapies Summit is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

    California Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, Educational Psychologists and Professional Counselors- As of July 1, 2017, the State of California /Board of Behavioral Sciences [BBS] amended its regulations for continuing education providers to include National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as a "board-recognized approval agency." If you are licensed as a marriage and family therapist, social worker, educational psychologist or professional clinical counselor in California, NBCC Approved Continuing Education Providers are recognized by the BBS to fulfill continuing education requirements. As of July 1, 2017, required CE hours can be accumulated entirely through self-study and distance learning. 

  • ART THERAPISTS

    ✢ According to the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB), continuing education credits in art therapy and/or mental health earned through this event can be applied toward the continuing education requirement for maintaining the ATR-BC. It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine if a particular session fits within the ATCB content areas.

  • ✢ According to the Certification Board for Music Therapists, relevant sessions attended can be claimed as "non-approved" educational courses toward continuing music therapy education credits (CMTE). Please refer to the recertification requirements regarding Board Certification domains, documentation required, and related information.

  • ✢According to the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA), continuing education credits in drama therapy and/or mental health, creative arts therapies, psychology and psychological process, diversity and social and cultural foundations, supervision, research and evaluation earned through this event can be applied toward the continuing education requirement for maintaining the RDT or RDT/BCT.

  • ✢According to the Dance/Movement Therapy Certification Board (DMTCB), relevant sessions attended may be applied toward continuing education requirements earned at this event.  Please refer to the Recertification Requirements for R-DMT and BC-DMT for guidelines and related information.

  • For Certified Child Life Specialists (CCLSs), hours may be applied toward recertification if session content is related to the Exam Content Outline and a certificate of attendance is obtained. Professional Development Units (PDUs) are earned based on 1 educational contact hour = 1 PDU. 

  • SOCIAL WORKERS

    Expressive Therapies Summit, SW CPE #0730 has received approval from the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work to offer continuing education to licensed social workers. The Department may subsequently notify the provider that a particular course or courses is/are not acceptable.   

    Instruction provided is to assist social workers in working with other professions; it does not authorize the social worker to engage in the practice of any other profession, except as allowed by the Education Law.

    Expressive Therapies Summit is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. #MHC-010262.

    LICENSED CREATIVE ARTS THERAPISTS

    Expressive Therapies Summit is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed creative arts therapists. #CAT-0105.

    Art Therapists Please Note: These credits can only be applied to ATCB certification by those holding the LCAT credential.



    MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPISTS

    Expressive Therapies Summit isrecognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed marriage and family therapists#MFT-0110.

  • Select events offer APT credits sponsored by Starbright Training Institute.

    Starbright Training Institute (STI) is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy. The course will provide one APT CE per hour. STI maintains responsibility for the program.  APT Approved Provider 96-029.

    Available only to licensed mental health practitioners or full-time graduate students in a graduate mental health program. Play therapy credit will not be awarded to non-mental health professionals.

    NOTE: Only those sessions specifically designated for APT credits (below the session description on the schedule pages) are eligible for APT credits.
