From Fragmentation to Integration:
Transforming Trauma Through the Creative Process

Discover new possibilities for your professional path with the Expressive Coaching Track, presented in partnership with the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). This dynamic series of workshops invites therapists, coaches, and educators to explore the emerging field of Expressive Arts Coaching and Community Building (EXCC)—a space where creativity meets purpose. Through experiential learning, guided reflection, and embodied arts practices, participants will gain tools to integrate expressive methods into coaching, deepen client engagement, and expand their capacity for meaningful transformation. Whether you’re seeking to pivot your career, enrich your current practice, or explore creative approaches to leadership and change-making, this track offers a supportive community and a powerful framework for growth. Join us to reimagine what’s possible when the arts become a catalyst for clarity, connection, and courageous transformation.

From Clinician to Coaching

  • Step out of diagnosis/treatment pathologizing and focus on strengths, possibilities, and future-oriented growth.

  • Expand your scope of practice to work with clients who don’t meet mental-health criteria, such as leaders, teams, and creatives.

  • Gain creative and expressive flexibility with freedom from insurance/compliance constraints to use arts, somatic, and community-building methods.

  • Reduce burnout by working with self-selecting, growth-oriented clients for more energizing collaborations.

From Coach to Clinical Roots

  • Gain a richer understanding of human development, trauma, and cultural context to hold more complexity.

  • Add expressive arts, somatic awareness, or trauma-informed modalities to stand out and differentiate your practice.

  • Increase your credibility by integrating well-researched frameworks, assessment tools, and multicultural responsiveness.

  • Create a pathway to specialized niches by serving populations and organizations seeking holistic well-being, resilience, and post-traumatic growth.
